Riverbend Hotel was established since 1997. It used to be the Utex Barracks when Mr. Meneleo Carlos Jr, now owner of Riverbanks Development Center, Inc., bought it from Utex Company. The former Mayor of Marikina, Bayani Fernando, came up with the idea of making it as a Hotel when the World Earth Day was held in Marikina in the year 1997.
It was named Riverbend Hotel because it is located near the bend of the river. It became “Skyline Riverbend Hotel” when Makati Skyline took over its’ management on January 2000.
